FAQs

How is aptitude testing different from a personality test?

1

Personality and interest assessments can provide useful information about what you enjoy or how you see yourself.

Aptitude testing looks at abilities that come naturally to you.

Future Finder combines those aptitude insights with your interests, circumstances and one-on-one coaching to help you explore educational and career possibilities.

How long does the assessment take?

2

The online assessment generally takes about 70–90 minutes.

It includes 11 components—10 focused on aptitudes and one on interests. It can be completed online and may be taken all at once or in smaller chunks of time.

What age is best for Future Finder?

3

Future Finder is primarily designed for young adults age 16 and older.

Kelly has worked with individuals from age 17 to 55, so the process can also be helpful for adults considering a new direction.

Can Future Finder help if I've already chosen a major?

4

Absolutely.

Understanding your aptitudes may reinforce the path you've already chosen, help you identify different opportunities within your field or suggest that an adjustment might be worth exploring.

For example, "accounting" isn't one career. Your strengths could point toward very different roles within the field.

And if your results make you question your current direction, learning that while you're still in school can be incredibly valuable.

Will Kelly tell me which major or career to choose?

5

No—and that's intentional.

Your results can help identify possibilities that may align with your aptitudes, and Kelly will help you explore and understand those possibilities.

But the ultimate decision belongs to you.

The goal is to give you better tools for making it.

Can parents participate?

6

Yes.

When appropriate, a parent or guardian can participate in the coaching session and review the results with you and Kelly.

Future Finder can also give families a more objective way to talk about options without the conversation simply becoming "what Mom or Dad thinks I should do."

What happens during the coaching session?

7

You'll meet with Kelly for approximately 75–90 minutes to review your results and talk about what they could mean for your future.

Together, you'll connect the assessment results to your current situation and discuss practical next steps.

When helpful, Kelly may also be able to connect you with professionals or leaders in fields you're considering.

What does Future Finder cost?

8

The Future Finder Experience is $795 and includes your intake questionnaire, aptitude assessment, Kelly's personal review of your results, a 75–90 minute coaching session and a 30-day follow-up.

Future Finder Plus is $1,195 and adds two additional one-on-one coaching sessions over the following 90 days.
